Car Information

Delivered new in Italy, this Ghia 1500 GT underwent a comprehensive restoration by Corrado Patella at Auto Officina Omega in Italy between 2015 and 2016. During the restoration, two layers of non-original paint were carefully removed, revealing and returning the car to its original metallic grey finish. The engine was fully rebuilt and upgraded from the standard 75 CV to 90 CV.

The car was subsequently registered in France before being offered at the Bonhams Zoute Sale on 11 October 2019, where it sold for €71,300 — the highest price achieved for the model at auction. Classic Driver Magazine featured this very car in an article that positioned the Ghia 1500 GT as a worthy alternative to far more expensive Italian Grand Tourers of the 1960s, noting it attracted more admiring glances than many blue-chip contemporaries.

The car had been bought in Germany in 2014, then painted green and mechanically tired; it came with its 1964 Italian carta di circolazione and a PRA extract tracing every owner from new, and later received ASI certification. Corrado Patella also rebuilt the engine, taking it from the standard 75 hp to roughly 90 hp. The Zoute result was € 62,000 at the hammer, € 71,300 with premium. The car now lives in Southern California, where its present owner made contact with the registry in 2026.
