Unknown #048

A silver Ghia 1500 GT on Borrani wire wheels, photographed at an Italian classic event beside a lake, rally number holders in the windscreen and a club roundel on the bonnet. The car carries the Siena registration SI 193569.

An Italian advertisement kept with this photograph describes what is almost certainly the same car: a 1963 Ghia 1500 GT fully restored in 2007, running, with a Nardi-tuned engine (the original unit also available), Borrani wire wheels and ASI and CSAI registration — metallic silver with black vinyl and grey cloth inside, offered at €30,000.

One caution: Unknown #042 is also a silver Ghia 1500 GT on wire wheels photographed in Italy, on the modern plate AM…R. The two may be the same car re-registered, or two similar cars. Nothing in the photographs settles it, so they are kept apart until a document does.
